Gorran calls on International Community to reach out to Afrin

As part of his introductory visit to the Kurdistan Region, the new ambassador of Italy to Iraq, Mr. Bruno Antonio Pasquino accompanied by Ms. Serena Muroni, Consul of Italy in Kurdistan Region, visited the main headquarters of the Change Movement ( Gorran) in Sulaimani .

During a meeting  with Mohammad Tofiq Rahim, member of the executive body, Hoshyar Omer, coordinator  of diplomatic relations room  and Dr. Yousif Mohammad, the two sides discussed the current situation in the Kurdistan Region, the upcoming elections in the Region and Iraq, relations between Erbil and Baghdad and the latest political developments in the Middle East, namely the situation in Afrin.

In another part of the meeting, the Change Movement said that Kurds in western Kurdistan( Rojava) has played key role in defeating ISIS and they need to be protected, since Kurds want self-governance to live in peace.
