On Wednesday evening (10 April 2013),at the Gorran headquarters, a meeting of the coordinating committee of Kurdistan opposition was held. At the meeting, apart from the emphasis on the strengthening of the alliance between Gorran, Yakgertu and Komal, the extension to Masoud Barzani's presidency was rejected.

After the meeting, the head of Political Analysis Room, Yusef Mohammed and Abu Bakir Ali, a member of the Yakgertu Politburo and Anwar Sangawi from Komal answered the questions from journalists in a press conference. They revealed that all three of them have prepared responses to the PUK and KDP Politburos and they reject the suggestion to extend the president's term or his denomination.

It was also emphasised that the Opposition front insists upon holding the elections at the time prescribed which also includes the provincial election. The three parties stated regarding the possibility of a new round of negotiations between the ruling parties and the opposition, that the negotiation depends on implementing decision number 2 of the Kurdistan Parliament which is about reform in Kurdistan region. It is also about referring the constitution draft and the laws that have a national connotation and implementing the demands of the demonstrators of 17 February and the arrest of the offenders.
